The phrase “It takes a Village” is ringing loudly for The Girls Empowerment Workshop.
Our hearts are full of Gratitude with the amount of generosity we have received over the past few months, and years, and would like to take the time to publicly thank the salt of the earth we are surrounded by in this community.
To The Ojai Valley Youth Foundation, who has been a major part of our foundation and ongoing financial support since the beginning, we would not be where we are if not for this relationship. From Caryn Bosson to Suzanne Feldman, its been an incredible collaboration.
To The Ojai Valley Woman’s Club, who have been opening their hearts and their clubhouse to us for the past few years. Allowing us to offer more programming in a beautiful and historic setting.
To The Rotary Ojai West, who have embraced our mission and provided us with ongoing funding for our annual Matilija Junior High School Workshop, which is now in its 11th year!
To The Ojai Unified School District, there are not words to express the support we have received from Hank Bangsor, Jackie Law, Emily Welch Mostovoy, Javier Ramirez, Becky Beckett, Dave Monson, Jeanine Murphy, and all of the people involved in making sure our children are not only educated, but cared for and loved.
To The Jewish Community of Ojai, Thank you for loaning us your gorgeous space to host our professional development meetings in. You have opened your doors and hearts to us and we are so grateful.
To The Ojai Women’s Fund. To date, you have given us our largest grant. This has opened up doors for growth that felt very far away. The amount of support you provided to local organizations in your first year is incredible, and what an honor to be one of your recipients.
To Steve Bennett, who has been tirelessly advocating for The Girls Empowerment Workshop to serve the girls throughout Ventura County, provided letters of support, and always been in our cheering section.
To The Nawbo Ventura for recognizing the importance of this work.
To Stacey Gerin of Ojai Coffee Roasting Co. for unconditionally providing love and coffee at all of our events which require caffeine, and to Papa Lennon’s Pizzeria for enough pizza to fill the stomachs of teenagers, year after year after year, and to Lori’s Original Lemonade for providing such sweetness to our special events.
And to the hundreds of people who have donated money, products, their voice, and more. We are only as strong as the foundation that holds us up. So Thank you Ojai.
